The AP-OIP 2015 Summit MOSA and Venturap events held last month in Taipei attracted over 2,500 participants and more than 100 speakers from throughout the APEC region.

At the events, we were honored to have a large number of inspirational speakers from government, business, and academia come and share their knowledge, experience, and insights with the audience. These included such leading figures as the Chinese Taipei premier Mao Chi-Kuo and the Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-Je, who talked about the role that governments can play in stimulating innovation and the development of startups and MSMEs.

We were particularly encouraged by the results of the extensive matchmaking activities that took place, which gave startups the chance to present their business plans to investors and other experts in order to get their advice and feedback. For many of the attendees, these face-to-face sessions proved invaluable in building up relationships with potential partners and getting advice and support for their ideas.
