Virtual reality has arrived and is making its presence known at international events around the world. The week starting on 20 June is particularly busy with events taking place in Brazil, France, Tokyo, Seoul and the US.
Sunny Side of the Doc, is an international market for documentaries taking place in La Rochelle, France, from 20 to 23 June, with presentations by broadcasters from around the world, screenings and special events.
At the same time, CE Week, New York’s largest consumer electronics (CE) and technology event, gathers experts in robotics, drones, smart homes, virtual reality, entertainment, startup economy, cognitive computing, cloud computing, connected cars and IoT.
It is also the time of the year for Japan’s largest trade show for 3D and virtual reality, the 3D Virtual Reality Expo, which attracts a significant number of participants from manufacturing and entertaining industries, broadcasting, image and content production companies, telecommunication companies, public offices, universities and research centres to Tokyo from 22 to 24 June. VR enthusiasts in Anaheim, California, can attend VidCon 2016, an event celebrating online videos that this year includes a seminar on virtual reality videos.
On the other side of the world in Korea, Seoul will be the meeting place for more than 80 local and international 3D printing, robotics, and virtual reality companies for the Inside 3D Printing, RoboUniverse, and Virtual Reality Summit conference and trade show taking place from 22 to 24 June.
Brazil is hosting the world this year. Rio with the Olympics in August and Gramado with the Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality from 21 to 24 June. SVR brings together national and international AR and VR professionals from academic, industrial and commercial areas to deliver short courses, presentations and keynotes and hold exhibitions on immersive technologies.
