The coming weeks have some great immersive technology events on offer before we head for a more quiet August. International conferences are taking place in Canada, Brazil and the United States.

First on our itinerary is BRVR 2016 in Sao Pauli, Brazil. Taking place on 16 July, this congress brings together content producers, researchers, visionaries and enthusiasts in virtual reality technology to explore topics like immersive 360-degree audio-visual production, games development in VR, the future of VR and more.

If you’re in Canada, Toronto is the place to be. VAMR 2016, the 8th International Conference on Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality is taking place here from 17 to 22 July. Topics at this week-long conference cover every aspect of VR, AR and MR, from applications, interaction and navigation in VAMR to issues in development and use of VAMR, underlying supporting technologies like HMDs and tracking technologies – too many to list here, but a week is long enough for a treasure hunt!

At the same time, Wearbles TechCon is taking place at the San Jose Convention Center on 18 and 19 July. This conference for developers, designers, builders, business decision makers and OEMs driving the next generation of wearables and the Internet of Things, now includes a session on augmented and virtual reality.

And don’t forget about the Mind & Body Hackathon with its great price of a HTC Vive plus AMD PC! In a 48-hour session teams will develop an immersive experience that inspires people to live better. You can get 10% off the registration fee at http://www.mindbodyvrhack.com/ by registering with this code: VRHACK10. The hackathon is from 22 to 24 July in Los Angeles.
