The future is a world of smart cities and smart homes, connected cars and wearable devices – a world of Internet-connected devices that will have a huge impact on industries, businesses and society. Across the world, global events are taking place for people and companies working in the space to connect and share their work and ideas on how IoT can streamline modern life in the future.

There is the International Symposium on Internet of Things in Mumbai, India which takes place on 3 August where students will learn about IoT and about careers in the IoT domain.

On 4 August there is a startup demo night in London where startups in the London hardware and IoT scene will demo their prototypes and pitch their business in front of hundreds of fellow hardware pioneers. Head to the Google Campus for this event.

On the same day, the IoT Village at DEF CON 24 starts in Las Vegas in the USA. The three-day event focuses on security advancements in Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

At the same time, from 5 – 7 August, the 2016 IEEE Workshop on IoT Application Development takes place in Bengaluru, India. The event will provide information about the current industrial trends on IoT products & services, Smart City initiatives and rapid prototyping of IoT applications.
