Next week sees two major global events featuring virtual reality, the Game Developers Conference Europe (GDC 2016) in Germany and the ‘Silicon Valley – China’ VR/AR & AI Future Forum 2016’ (VRAIF 2016) in the US.
GDC is the largest professionals-only game industry event in Europe. This year, the Design Track will explore the challenges and ramifications of the interaction between new technologies like virtual reality and established techniques for the creation of compelling and immersive games. Held in Cologne every fall, GDC Europe attracts more than 2,200 industry professionals. This year the event takes place on 15 and 16 August.
On 16 and 17 August VRAIF 2016 the Santa Clara Convention Center will play host to a conference of industry leaders, top academics, venture capital firms, incubators/accelerators and innovative startups from the US and China. The objective of this conference is to connect Silicon Valley’s technology with China’s market, as well as to link Silicon Valley’s companies with China’s capital. It is the first event that brings Chinese investors and Silicon Valley frontier technologies together under one roof. Many of the leading VR/AR/AI companies will be in attendance with entrepreneurs and investors from China looking to partner with and invest in the companies in the US.
