Global conferences explore the impact of VR on entertainment and more

The VR industry is growing fast as can be seen by the number of global events taking place in just the third week of October.

In Los Angles, VR Society is hosting VR on the Lot on October 13 -14 and Digital Hollywood presents the four-day Virtual & Augmented Reality Summit from 18 – 21 October. The Virtual & Augmented Reality Summit explores how virtual and augmented reality can change the entertainment and advertising world.

Two events will specifically explore how VR relates to television. Virtual Reality 20/20 taking place in New York on 17 October will focus on VR and its potential impact on television and television programming. Taking place during NYC Television & Video Week, the event will also explore ways to monetize VR/AR content. CSI Summit: Virtual Reality, organised by CSI Magazine, will explore all aspects of virtual reality and in particular how it relates to TV and video.

From 14 to 16 October the Intelligent Technology Experience World Expo will take place in Shanghai, gathering the world’s most influential companies and institutions involved in the business of Wireless Power/ Wearable/AR&VR.

Immersed taking place in Ontario, Canada, and VR & AR World in London are two large events that are expected to draw thousands of visitors. Immersed is aimed at building the immersive industry, including augmented and virtual reality and 3D. The event, which runs from 16 to 18 October, is a platform for market leaders, investors, pioneers, business and academics and also a public showcase for VR technology. VR & AR World on 19 and 20 October is focused on the commercial potential of virtual and augmented reality worldwide. More than 80 speakers from the forefront of VR and AR worldwide are expected.
